Comparison of Methods of Detecting Bacterial Biofilm |

Fresh bacterial biofilm produced by Staphylococcus epidermidis was sensitively detected by using a chemiluminescent probe. Its lower detection limit was around 10-5 - 10-4 dilution (equivalent to 10-5 - 10-4 cm² biofilm) - 10² - 103 times as sensitive as ordinary colorimetric methods. The linearity and dynamic range were slightly better than those of fluorometry. |
